25-YEAR CLUB ANNUAL DINNER

1—New 25-year members welcomed into the club were, left to right, J. J. Hall, A. L. Hitchner and G. H. Kindall.
2 thru 6—You'll recognize many of these Quarter Century Club members.
7—To this group went everyone's thanks—they were in charge of food.

The annual dinner and homecoming of the Quarter Century Club was held on October 16 at the Sohio Club House. It was necessary to cancel the state meetings for the duration, but the Solar unit refuses to do without their annual gathering, and the current meeting is evidence that the members thoroughly enjoy these get-togethers. Over 100 were served a real old-fashioned southern dinner of baked ham, candied sweets and all the trimmings by the committee, consisting of: Tony Lusk, John Nicoline, Thomas J. Johnston, Stanley Straker, Earl Marshall, with Carl Miller, Ray Andrews, L. L. Judy and F. E. Burkholder acting as waiters.

Members of the unit from the Lima Division, who also participated in the festivities, are always headed by genial Al D. McAtee, but with Al confined in Memorial Hospital, Lee Inskeep did a fine job of pinch hitting, ably assisted by Andy Neer and Howard Bickley.

Following the dinner, certificates of membership were presented by Chairman Charles C. Cleveland to these new men: Glen O. Howard, James J. Hall, G. Howard Kindall and Arthur L. Hitchner. Following the presentation, the meeting was thrown open to the annuitants and many interesting, as well as amusing, incidents were related. It was truly a "you remember when" session.

Party-Lites: After partaking of that splendid dinner, one can readily understand why Tom Johnston is always praising his wife's cooking; she prepared this one and it sure was good . . Ferd L. Conner, who has been on the retired list for a couple of months, gave those who expect to retire shortly some good advice on getting up early in the morning and taking a long walk before breakfast, but we question this mightily . . . Tony Lusk and his gang made a trip to Michigan to catch fish for the party, but decided that three fish wouldn't be enough, so ham was served . . . Noticed a lot of old timers present, including D. E. Simons, I. L. Shaffer, Henry English, George U. Daniels, A. J. Wheelbarger, U. E. Staup, Frank Greeley, Frank DeMoss, W. C. Miller, Charles E. Durnbaugh, G. J. Penny-packer, John Stanyer, Ferd L. Conner, John O. Mills, John Metz, Elijah Settle-mire, E. E. Laman, Harry Bullock . . . Harold Bickley, specialty salesman, seemed to carry off honors as the champion story teller, at least he always had a crowd around him. . . . Regrets were read from Carl Margraf, state vice president, Irwin S. Payton, secretary, and A. D. McAtee ... A mammoth get-well card, signed by all present, was sent to McAtee at the hospital, together with a floral remembrance . . . Yes, Sohioans do enjoy themselves.
