Quadraphonic System Information

In the early 1970's, 4-channel stereo was the 'sound of things to come'. Sometimes called Surround Sound, the technique added 2 Rear channels to the normal 2 stereo channels (now called Front), thus surrounding the listener. 3 or 4 competing technologies crowded the arena for a few years and lack of compatibility among them contributed to the demise of the systems. The SQ format was one of the more successful and widely-adopted standards.

This copy of a Columbia record jacket contains a nice summary of the state of the art in 1973.

We have sold several Quadraphonic items over the past 7 years and always try to to keep some in stock. Most of our current Quadraphonic products should be HERE
