Return to Holidays

Bisbee is a small mining town in southeast Arizona with a bust-and-boom history. The mine is longer in operation but the town has survived by adapting to other methods of employment. Microbreweries, art galleries and antique stores now dominate the local businesses. Surprisingly, The Copper Queen, an historic hotel has survived and gives us a glipse into the past whenever we visit it. The area has a special feel - almost depressing but somehow full of energy. The spirits of those who died here are evident to anyone who listens for their faint voices.
Marilyn and I try to stay overnight at least 2 times a year- sometimes more frequently. The respite from work is refreshing. Following are some pictures we took on a trip in 2000- and a few more from 2007.

On a recent trip, we discovered a pleasant Bread and Breakfast, which is located in a renovated school house. Here are the details and some pictures we took while staying there.
