Game Summary: The bust-the-trust game. Your goal in this game is to break up the monopolistic groups you see on the board in front of you. For example, Fort Auto, Crystal Auto and General Auto are three big companies belonging to the auto group that have worked out a system to keep prices high and competitors out of the market. This is illegal, but they are getting away with it--unless you and the other trust-busting lawyers in the game can stop them. The trust buster who does the best job of enforcing the law against monopolies wins. This player's score is the total number of social credits earned, plus the amount of budget money he or she has left when the game ends. You'll recognize a monopolistic group (or combination) by its color: the auto monopoly is orange. Steel is dark green. The companies in a monopoly group are not all side by side on the board. They aren't always located together in the real world either, but distance doesn't keep them from acting as one big monopoly. The law is your weapon in busting the trusts. Sherman Anti-Trust Law: "Every person who shall monopolize...any part of commerce...shall be punished by fine...or by imprisonment not exceeding one year."
