IMPORTANT NOTICE110
VOLT MODEL — Push button (A) to open case door with name plate on it. Unwind
cord, plug Into 110-115 volt AC or use coin to turn voltage adjuster (B) to
desired voltage. MULTI-CURRENT
MODEL — Before plugging power cord into wall outlet, use coin to turn voltage
adjuster (B) to local voltage. Multi-current model set for 50-cycle AC only.
For 60-cycle AC, a special drive pulley must be installed by your MPO dealer. MULTI-CURRENT
"AUTO CYCLE SWITCH" MODEL — Same as above except with projector
running machine may also be switched from 50 to 60 cycles or back without
pulley interchange. In
normal operation, when the control lever is placed In "on" position
the projector will immediately begin to advance the film smoothly. If at any
time you get an unsteady picture, lose a film loop, or lose sound,
IMMEDIATELY push control lever down to "off" position. Simply push
back to "on" position to "rethread" machine. GENERAL MAINTENANCELenses,
mirror, sound roller, pick-up head end guides should be cleaned with a
Iintless lens tissue when necessary. Film gate should be cleaned with
gate brush provided with the projector. The projector is permanently
lubricated, DO NOT STORE PROJECTOR OR FILM under extremely hot or cold
conditions. If cold allow to warm
to room temperature before use |

HOW
TO USE PROJECTOR SELF-CONTAINED REAR VIEW SCREEN
STEP
1 - Use 6.5 mm lens (C). Be sure
mirror (D) is positioned so that lens projects image into mirror. STEP
2 - Push catch-release buttons (P)
located on opposite ends of case and gently lift cover (W) to open
self-enclosed screen. Be sure screen seats to left as shown. To close, gently
press in both sides (T). STEP
3 - Insert film magazine. (See
instructions below.) FRONT PROJECTION ON WALL SCREEN
STEP
1 - 15 to 25 mm zoom (or optional
25 mm) lens must be used. To remove 6.5 mm wide-angle lens, push mirror
holder (D) to extreme right, press top of lens holder (E) to release lens and
remove. Then push mirror holder (D) to extreme left. Then again press top of
lens holder (E) and insert zoom lens. Then release lens holder and make final
focus by rotating as necessary. STEP
2 - Depress elevation lever (F).
raise projector, and then release lever to hold elevation. STEP
3 - If extension speaker is to be
used, plug into jack (G) in projector. STEP
4 - Insert film magazine. (See
instructions below) NOTE: Operating door
may be removed at anytime by pressing down on small white handle on upper
inside edge of door. |

HOW TO INSERT MAGAZINE AND TURN PROJECTOR "ON" AND
"OFF"
STEP
1 - Place "Control Lever"
(H) in "off" (down) position. Turn volume control (J) to midway
position. STEP
2 - To insert magazine (I) in
projector, rest magazine on inside case edge as shown. Slowly and carefully
push into machine using etched outline of magazine as placement guide. STEP
3 - Push control lever (H) up to
"on" position to start projector. STEP
4 - Adjust focus by rotating lens
in barrel holder STEP
5 - Adjust volume by rotating
"volume control" (J) on side of projector STEP
6 - Projector may also be turned
off by turning volume control fully towards screen. HOW TO USE AUTOMATIC CYCLING SYSTEM
STEP
1—Film must be precisely notched by
MPO at stop points (See section below headed "Concerning The
Film"). STEP
2—If "cycling cord' is used,
insert in Remote Control" (K) Jack. STEP
3—Place projector in operation in
same manner as described above. STEP
4—When projector comes to film
notch and cycles "off", it is re-cycled by pressing button on end
of cycling cord. If no cycling cord is used, projector may be re-cycled by
pressing "in" on cycling by-pass lever (L). STEP 5 —If your film is notched for cycling, the cycling
system may be bypassed if desired by pressing "in" on bypass lever
(L) and then locking it in direction of projector door. Projector then turns
"on" and "off" in same manner as with use of
unnotched film. |

This
machine accepts Super 8 sound film only with SMPTE approved sound advance of 18
frames. Film should be protective coated, properly loaded in magazine by MPO or
MPO licensee.
If
your film becomes excessively dirty after extensive use. MPO can clean and
recoat it for further useful service.
Eastman
Color Estar or Acetate pre-sound striped stock gives most satisfactory service.
B & W may also be used. Reversal prints should be avoided if possible as
they have a tendency to warp.
IMPORTANT
NOTE: Allow a minimum of 3 feet of leader before start of your picture and
sound (due to exclusive long-life bulb, amplifier and film protective features
built into the MPO Videotronic Compact).

PROJECTION LAMP
The Videotronic Super 8 uses a quartz DNF, ELZ or ELV 150 watt. 21 volt lamp. The bulb will burn considerably longer on the normal setting. To change a lamp, remove the magazine and unscrew chrome-plated knob (M) holding the lamphouse in place, remove lamphouse, withdraw old lamp and insert replacement lamp. Replace lamphouse, making certain the chrome-plated knob is snug. |
